Benkei (弁庆, Benkei) is a character of the Kurozuka series.

Equipment

Shakujō: During his first appearance (where he posed as a mountain priest together with Kurō), Benkei was seen wielding a Shakujō. Unlike Kurō, who hid a blade within the staff in order to fight, Benkei used the Shakujō in a more traditional fighting style, which he seemed to execute with great expertise.

• Musashibō Benkei (1155–1189), popularly called Benkei, was a Japanese warrior monk (sōhei) who served Minamoto no Yoshitsune. He is commonly depicted as a man of great strength and loyalty, and a popular subject of Japanese folklore
